Sleeping - we've all moved!

Well, we've had a little bit of excitement in our home over the past week or so! Peter has finally made the *official* transition to his big boy bed in his new bedroom - no more crib sleeping for him! We have a rail on the bed and Peter can easily get in and out of his bed, we've had no falls and no accidents so far. Here is a moment I caught during nap time . . . ha ha ha with his army of soothers lined up!!

Naps have been truly amazing - Peter will play in his room for a few minutes and then climb into bed and go to sleep! Bed time routines are a bit longer, lots of book reading and relaxing before he'll actually go to sleep. But overall we couldn't be happier with how the transition went!

And, so of course, this is where little David is now sleeping - I didn't actually get a picture with David in the crib, but so far so good! He seems to really like it and has even slept through the night completely several times so far.

Ice storm pics . . .

We had a little ice storm over the weekend - I took some photos but you can't see the frozen ice on the trees that well!!! You can see a big branch from the tree on our front yard fell down!

David - 16 weeks old!

David is growing quickly and doing more and more every day. He loves to grab all sorts of toys and put them in his mouth. And no wonder, the poor little guy seems to be getting his first tooth! Oh my - not even four months old yet. Lots of drooling, some diarrhea, fussiness, fists in mouth . . . sounds (and looks) like a tooth to me!

He loves to scream with glee and coo and makes noises all day long! And he's suddenly awake so much more during the day and is sleeping sooooo much more at night!

Here are a few pictures . . . again :-)

"I'm sure I can eat this thing if I try hard enough!!!"

I just love to sit in my bumbo - I can sit up like a big boy!

Winterlude 2006

So we packed up our gang and headed downtown to enjoy Winterlude, one of the largest winter festivals in the world. It was cold but comfortable and nice and sunny. We didn't take our skates but walked along the Rideau Canal, the world's largest ice skating rink!! Once we saw so many people with their strollers on the ice we decided we would come back and skate while pushing the boys in the double stroller! Maybe tomorrow or next weekend :-)

Pete takes a spill on the ice and hams it up:

Here is a view of the canal and you can see Paul pulling Pete in the sled there:

Yummy, we had to stop for a Beaver Tail, an Ottawa specialty! It's basically deep fried dough with cinnamon and sugar coating it! Delicious!

Here's what it looks like!!

Pete has his first even Beaver Tail!!!

Here is me carrying little David!

Don't worry he is snug and warm in there!

Here are a couple of the snow sculptures - we didn't make it all the way down to the actual ice sculptures so we will do that tomorrow or next weekend! The canal is several kilometres and the ice sculptures are at the other end . . .

David is 15 weeks old!

Trying, trying and trying to get a picture of David smiling . . . you'd never believe that he smiles all the time considering how hard it is to get a picture with the *big* smile! We'll keep working on it. David's doing so well, he is 15 weeks old now, hard to believe how fast times fly! We've been out and about a lot lately, keeping Pete busy going to playgroups and other activities during the week. David is always such a good baby when we are out doing our "stuff"! Peter loves his playgroups and enjoys playing with other kids and working on art and playing around. He is saying three and four words together now and is just talking so much . . . needless to say we are very excited that he can communicate so well with us now.

He says "bye bye see you Rudy" and "it's right der" quite a lot lately. He says something hilarious that makes us laugh at least once every day!!

Here are some 15 week old photos of little David:

I'm a such a big boy sitting in my bumbo!!!

And I'm an even bigger guy sitting in my brother's big chair!!!

I'm trying to have a nap in peace and everyone keeps taking my picture!!!

Words can't express how much I love this swing . . . I could spend my life swinging if only my parents would let me!!!

My parents keep telling me I'm a real "looker" ;-)
