David is two weeks old now!

David is doing just great and is fitting in with his new little family like a champ!! Big brother Peter loves him a lot and loves to give him lots of kisses and hugs, and bring him toys to lay on his lap!! Rudy seems to like the new addition as well, he is a lot less threatening to him than Peter is these days :-)

David is breastfeeding very well, but and is gaining weight slowly. He's still small, under 8 lbs but we get him weighed again on Monday. He still sleeps a lot but does open his eyes for slightly longer periods now to check out his new digs. He is a VERY happy baby and sleeps, eats and almost never cries. He probably feels there is too much noise in this house already - ha ha!

Dad took Pete trick-or-treating so Mom could stay home with baby David to give out the treats to all the little ones . . . and in true spirit Dad dressed up as a cow too. What a great little herd :-)

Peter's little brother David arrived!!

Baby David Bertels arrived today, Friday, October 28th at 1:35 p.m. He was due November 9th, and showed up a wee bit early!! David was born at home, weighs 7lbs 10 oz and is doing wonderful with his family now :-) Big brother Peter is not sure what to think, but has given him a hug and a kiss. More updates to follow later!

Pete's big boy East Coast bedroom.

As promised, here is Peter's nearly finished bedroom. He has slept in his big-boy bed for two nights now, although it hasn't gone as smoothly as we'd hoped . . . we do have a large rail that keeps him safe so he doesn't fall out, but our little monkey easily climbs in and out of his new freedom-inducing bed. The last part to the room will be a nice cosy rug for the floor . . . we're looking for a nice simple colour since the walls and bedding are so bold. We're also looking for a cool light fixture in the shape of a ship's wheel or something, and maybe an old lobster trap to stick full of toys - please e-mail us if you have any leads or suggestions :-)

Peter gets down to some office work!

Peter helped us do some paper shredding this weekend . . . and had quite a good time in the process!!

Hmmmmm . . . yes, those pyjamas are a "little" too big!!
