I just may be in love . . .

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

Although it is not Thanksgiving here in Canada, I am extremely thankful today for a local camera store having a sale on DSLR cameras. After waiting patiently for over a year, I am finally the proud owner of a Nikon D60 digital SLR camera. Because I was good this year, I was even allowed to open it before Christmas.

And while I do not profess to be anything that remotely resembles an expert photographer (or even a person who knows how to use her camera yet), I couldn't NOT share my first few shots with you.

Thing 1

Thing 2

Thing 3

Thing 4

Be patient.

I promise to get better!

OOOH, I was wondering how the Nikon was. I hope you like it. I want to move up to a DSLR, but I don't know if I'm ready.

How fun! My first thought, reading the title and seeing the first photo was that you really loved Crayola! Now I know better. :) I love Thing 4! :)

Yeah! We just got a fancy camera this year, too. A Nikon something or another as well! I'm still getting used to it! If you don't have a program yet, I LOVE photoshop elements. It's a fraction of what the full-blown Photoshop costs, but still has PLENTY of stuff to make your pics look awesome!

Excuse our stoopidity Miss Crafty Mom, but what do you need to get better at? The photos you posted look mighty good to us!

And can we talk about the darling factor on the Things?!

Stopping by on my tour of the Photo Story Friday posts. Congrats on the new camera! My husband just got a new digital SLR too -- Canon Rebel Xsi -- and I'm amazed what it can do. If you have time, check out the cool photos he got with his new camera on my blog (I'm roping him into supporting my newfound blog addiction by featuring his photos). He got some really cool photos by using a slower shutter speed. I get why he "needed" the new camera. I'm looking forward to see more of your photos!

And I love the look of your blog too!
